MONALISA presented on Greek National Parliament TV

On 18 October 2025, the MONALISA project reached a national audience in Greece through an appearance on the Hellenic Parliament TV channel “Vouli”, during the programme Diavouleuseis.

Representatives of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN) – MONALISA partner and the oldest national environmental NGO in Greece – were invited to discuss nature conservation and environmental challenges, and used the opportunity to introduce MONALISA and its objectives.

Introducing MONALISA to a national audience

During the interview, MONALISA was briefly presented, outlining its role as an EU-funded project under the Horizon Europe programme that aims to prevent and reverse land degradation and desertification (LDD) in Mediterranean drylands by promoting innovative, tailored solutions with proven socio-economic and environmental benefits.

Strengthening MONALISA’s outreach in Greece

As an organisation with a long history of environmental education, awareness-raising and public engagement, HSPN plays a key role in connecting MONALISA with Greek citizens, schools and local communities

This national TV appearance contributes to Work Package 5 – Dissemination, communication, exploitation and capacity building, which aims to:

  • Increase visibility of MONALISA and its solutions

  • Connect “problem owners” (land managers, communities, authorities) with “solution providers” (researchers, practitioners, innovators)

  • Build capacity and awareness around the risks of land degradation and desertification and the opportunities offered by sustainable land management.

Beyond the live broadcast on the Vouli channel, the interview is also available on YouTube via both HSPN’s channel and the Parliament’s channel, and has been further disseminated through HSPN’s social media – helping the project reach viewers well beyond the immediate TV audience.
