MONALISA Workshop at El Guijo School

Continuing the school outreach: MONALISA arrives in El Guijo

Following the previous school visits, ADROCHES continues its outreach activities to bring the MONALISA project into local classrooms and raise awareness about soil health and sustainability. On 11 November 2025, an on-site session at Virgen de las Cruces School in El Guijo (Córdoba, Spain) was held with a small group of students.

A workshop built for dialogue

With a smaller group, the session naturally became more interactive and conversation-based. Led by Aleix Antonell and Juan Francisco Díaz (ADROCHES), the workshop introduced MONALISA in a student-friendly way and invited questions and reflections linked to the local environment.

What we explored together

The workshop focused on practical, easy-to-grasp messages:

  • Soil is a living resource that supports food production, biodiversity, and water regulation.

  • Soil degradation is a growing challenge, especially in rural and agricultural areas, affecting long-term productivity and resilience.

  • European innovation can support local action: MONALISA contributes by improving knowledge, monitoring, and awareness, helping communities and stakeholders adopt better practices over time.

Why school outreach matters

Soil is often overlooked, yet it underpins many parts of everyday life. Activities like this help students see sustainability as something concrete and close to home, while also showing how European initiatives connect to local realities and future opportunities.

MONALISA project thanks the teachers and students of Virgen de las Cruces School for the warm welcome and active participation. We look forward to continuing these outreach activities and sharing more moments from the classrooms we visit.
