“Un año y medio de trabajo en Los Pedroches”: MONALISA presents progress in Los Pedroches
On April 17, 2026, MONALISA held the event “Un año y medio de trabajo en Los Pedroches” in Dos Torres, Córdoba, bringing together farmers, collaborators and other interested stakeholders to share the progress made after 18 months of work in Los Pedroches.
Organised by ADROCHES with contributions from CREAF, the on-site event created a space to present and discuss the results generated so far within the project, particularly in relation to sampling activities, interviews, surveys, research and publications developed under Work Packages 2 and 5.
The session was designed to connect the project’s technical and scientific work with the people and organisations most closely linked to the territory. Participants included land management and restoration practitioners, policy and decision-makers, representatives from scientific and academic institutions, and members of the wider community. By opening the discussion to a broad audience, the event helped strengthen dialogue between research, practice and local knowledge.
The programme featured contributions from Aleix Antonell (ADROCHES), together with Vicenç Carabassa, Cristina Domingo and Ester Prat (CREAF). Their presentations offered an overview of the work carried out over the past year and a half and highlighted the value of collaboration in building a stronger knowledge base for sustainable land management in Los Pedroches.
Beyond presenting results, the event was also an opportunity to reflect on the process behind them: engaging with local actors, gathering evidence from the field, and translating that information into research and outputs that can support future action. Sharing these results with those directly connected to the area is a key part of ensuring that MONALISA remains grounded in local realities while contributing to broader project objectives.
As a regional event, “Un año y medio de trabajo en Los Pedroches” underlined the importance of place-based exchange. It reaffirmed MONALISA’s commitment to working closely with communities and stakeholders, and to making project knowledge accessible, relevant and useful to those involved in land management and restoration.
MONALISA thanks everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion in Dos Torres. Events like this are essential for building shared understanding, strengthening collaboration and ensuring that the lessons emerging from the project can support both local and wider impact.
