Project Highlights

Asterousia Co-Design Event (Crete): MONALISA brought together local stakeholders and partners to identify challenges and priorities for the Asterousia Mountains case study area.
WEFE Nexus Workshop (Chania): The project contributed to discussions on practical tools, stakeholder engagement, and policy relevance for integrated Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem solutions in the Mediterranean.
Knowledge Exchange in Palestine: Farmers in Beit Dajan and Tayasir took part in collaborative workshops, highlighting the role of local knowledge in shaping practical solutions.

Recent Activities

Fieldwork in Tunisia (Medenine): IRA carried out soil infiltration measurements and soil sampling campaigns to support baseline assessment and better understanding of soil and water dynamics in arid environments.
School Outreach (Los Pedroches): Workshops in local schools engaged students on soil health, biodiversity, water, and the importance of protecting Mediterranean rural landscapes.

Spotlight

Soils for Europe Conference 2026: MONALISA is proud to be a co-organizer of the conference in Coimbra, Portugal, and encourages the soil community to submit abstracts and join the discussion on Europe’s soil future.
