CUSTODES Event on Desertification and Land Stewardship
On 17 June 2026, the University of Sassari, coordinator of the MONALISA project, will organise the CUSTODES event “Processi di desertificazione e cura del territorio” at the Department of Agriculture in Sassari, Italy.
Held in recognition of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, the event will bring together researchers, institutional representatives, rural stakeholders and local actors to discuss soil degradation, desertification processes and the importance of responsible land stewardship.
The programme will include institutional greetings, presentations on new European regulations related to soil degradation and their implications for rural communities, a focus group session, and a roundtable discussion with invited representatives from academia, public institutions, agricultural organisations and professional associations.
The event will also feature presentations of the CUSTODES project activities and the PRIMA NBS360 project, creating an opportunity to connect research, policy and local territorial needs in addressing desertification and supporting more resilient landscapes.
