Workshop on Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships for SETA Inner Area

March 12, 2025

On February 22, 2025, Fondazione MEDES organized a workshop at the Castello Normanno del Guiscardo in Caggiano, Salerno, Italy, to plan ongoing stakeholder engagement and future partnerships for the SETA (Sele Tanagro and Alburni) Inner Area. This on-site event is part of the activities planned by the twin project, TERRASAFE, and aimed to co-create and implement social innovations to counter land degradation and abandonment in inner areas prone to desertification.

The workshop brought together a diverse audience, including land management and restoration practitioners, policymakers, environmental and biodiversity conservation stakeholders, and representatives from scientific research institutions. Participants discussed strategies to foster development in these vulnerable regions, with a focus on integrating the efforts of the MONALISA project and its potential interactions with TERRASAFE.

This event marked a significant step in fostering collaboration among local, regional, and national stakeholders to address the pressing challenges of land degradation and promote sustainable development in Southern Italy.
