Over the past decade, a vast amount of drought data has been produced, but its complexity and fragmentation make it difficult for decision-makers to use effectively.
With droughts expected to affect 75% of the global population by 2050, there is an urgent need to turn data into action. Launching at UNCCD COP16, the International Drought Resilience Observatory—an AI-powered platform by the International Drought Resilience Alliance—will offer a centralized tool to help policymakers analyze and act on key drought-resilience indicators.
The platform is intended to bridge the gap between experts and decision-makers and to prompt action based on data and science.
