Healthy soils are crucial for climate neutrality, biodiversity, and food security, yet over 60% of EU soils face degradation. The updated Soil Health Dashboard by the EU Soil Observatory (EUSO) highlights the extent of this issue. The proposed Soil Monitoring Law aims to make soil health monitoring mandatory and guide sustainable soil management.
In this context, EUSO will host its 4th Stakeholder Forum, organized by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), to engage with policymakers, scientists, and citizens. The 2024 forum will cover five key topics, including the Soil Monitoring Law, the State of Soils in Europe report, and soil health policies. Registration is open to all interested participants!
