EO for Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification of Carbon Removals

October 7 @ 1:00 pm - October 10 @ 1:00 pm

Earth Observation for Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification of Carbon Removals

Building on the momentum of last year’s event, the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) invite you to the second edition of their in-person conference on Earth Observation (EO) for Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) of Carbon Removals.

Spanning policy, science, and market perspectives, this four-day event will explore how EO technologies can support carbon removals under two key EU frameworks: the LULUCF Regulation and the Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming Certification Framework (CRCF).

Two Integrated Events, One Conference

1. EO for LULUCF Monitoring, Reporting and Verification
🗓️ 7–8 October 2025
From policy context to national examples, this segment focuses on strengthening MRV systems for land-based carbon accounting using EO tools.

2. Third Forum on EO for Carbon Markets
🗓️ 8–10 October 2025
Centred on the evolving EU CRCF, this forum will dive into methodologies for carbon farming, space technologies, and how EO can underpin credible carbon credits.

Key Themes

  • Recent EU policy developments on LULUCF and CRCF
  • Satellite and in-situ EO innovations for carbon flux estimation
  • Alignment of MRV systems across regulatory frameworks
