OUR Community
The MONALISA project’s Community of Knowledge (KC) is a platform with the goal of fostering collaboration, innovation and action in the fight against land degradation and desertification (LDD).
The KC is designed as a platform to unite key experts, including researchers, technical experts, policymakers and civil society, to share insights, co-create solutions, and scale successful interventions. With a robust structure, the Community operates on three levels of engagement: Core members (directly involved experts), the Community of Interest (active contributors), and General Stakeholders (recipients of knowledge outputs).
The MONALISA Community of Knowledge is led by our project partner ISPRA – Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research through the Task 5.4 Building a Community of Knowledge to facilitate the dissemination and use of results.
- Annual Meetings: Facilitating discussions on updates, results, and stakeholder contributions, with the third meeting in 2027 planned as an in-person conference in Rome.
- Café Talks: Biannual virtual forums promoting interactive discussions on LDD solutions.
- Open Calls for Young Researchers: Annual calls offering a platform for emerging voices to present innovative ideas and research.
- Quarterly News Updates: Sharing top stories, event announcements, and insights from both MONALISA and the broader KC network through MONALISA Website and email campaigns.
Additionally, the KC collaborates with high-impact networks and integrates results into the Mission Soil framework. With the involvement of over 300 members, the KC supports scientific exchange and policy integration, ensuring that MONALISA’s outputs leave a legacy beyond the project’s duration.
